Your adventure begins the moment you land at Arlanda Airport! Our SveGuide hosts will be there to greet you and guide you toward your transfer to Stockholm City. Whether you choose the Airport Bus, the Arlanda Express Train that takes you to the Central Station or a taxi, your journey into Sweden’s stunning capital starts here (transfer at your own expense).
Upon arrival, SveGuide hosts will also meet you at the Central Station and direct you to the Scandic Sjöfartshotellet, where our SveGuide hospitality desk will assist you with check-in and registration.

In the late afternoon, we’ll set out on a captivating, guided walk through the medieval streets of Gamla Stan, where every cobblestone has a story to tell. In the dark November night, we’ll step into one of the charming historic buildings to enjoy a warm and welcoming dinner in a cosy restaurant—a favourite among local guides. This is the perfect opportunity to indulge in Swedish flavours, soak in the ambiance, and connect with fellow travellers.
For early arrivals (Nov. 21-23), there will be an opportunity to do this walk and dinner on Sunday evening, the 23rd of November.
Today, we dive into the very best of Stockholm! Our morning begins with a guided panoramic coach tour through the city’s most iconic sights, offering breathtaking views and fascinating stories about the Swedish capital.
One of the stops is the magnificent City Hall, home to the legendary Blue and Golden Halls, where the prestigious Nobel Prize banquet takes place. As we explore, you'll get a glimpse behind the scenes of one of the world’s most celebrated award ceremonies.
During the tour, we journey to Royal Djurgården, a lush island brimming with history and culture. Here, we step into the world-famous Vasa Museum, where the perfectly preserved 17th-century warship awaits. Unique in the world, one of a kind! Discover its dramatic history, the challenges of conservation, and the incredible effort to keep this maritime treasure intact for future generations.
Of course, we do as the Swedes do – enjoying a traditional fika (coffee break) before our tour concludes in Old Town or at the hotel.

Uppsala - From Vikings to Visionaries
Rise and shine! This morning, we set off northward into the Swedish countryside, where rolling landscapes and historic landmarks guide us to Uppsala—one of Sweden’s oldest cities.

Hear about the legacy of Carl Linnaeus, the world-renowned botanist who revolutionized how we classify nature. Experience the academic spirit that has shaped the city since the 15th century and continues today. From the bus, enjoy the view from Uppsala Castle, rising above the city– a reminder of Sweden’s royal past."

Onward to the Dalarna and Falun – A UNESCO World Heritage Site
In the afternoon, we continue to Falun, a historic town known for its deep connection to mining, sports, and outdoor life. This picturesque destination still bears the marks of its rich past, from its copper mine to its cultural scene. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel and prepare for a special evening.
Opening Ceremony at Dalarna Museum
As the November evening settles in, we embark on a short, guided walk through the streets of Falun. The crisp autumn air sets the perfect atmosphere as we arrive at the Dalarna Museum, where the official opening ceremony takes place, surrounded by the traditions and heritage of the Dalarna region.
Dinner is at your leisure—take the opportunity to explore Falun’s local dining scene and savour the flavours of central Sweden.
Today, we journey deep into Sweden’s artistic and cultural heritage, exploring the landscapes, homes, and traditions that have shaped the country’s identity.
Our day begins with a short visit to the very heart of the UNESCO-listed Falu Copper Mine. This historic site, once one of the world’s most important mines, played a key role in shaping Sweden’s wealth and power. Standing here, you’ll feel the echoes of the past in the rugged, rust-coloured terrain.
We embark on a guided underground tour, stepping into the very heart of Sweden’s industrial heritage. As we descend into the historic tunnels, we’ll uncover the stories of the miners who toiled here and how this mine played a crucial role in Sweden’s development and prosperity.
Step into a Swedish Masterpiece in Sundborn
A must stop when visiting Dalarna is the picturesque village of Sundborn, home to one of Sweden’s most beloved artists, Carl Larsson. We’ll enjoy a specialized guided tour of the house, where Carl and his wife Karin crafted a uniquely Swedish interior style that continues to inspire homes around the world. This visit offers an intimate look into their artistic vision, personal lives, and the warmth that made their home a national treasure.
A Festive Christmas Lunch at Staberg Cultural Reserve
Our cultural journey continues at Staberg, a beautifully preserved master miner’s estate that is also part of the World Heritage Site. Here, we’ll indulge in a traditional Swedish Christmas lunch, a feast filled with festive flavours and historic charm. As we dine, we’ll also learn about the history of these estates and their role in Sweden’s mining legacy.

Enjoy breathtaking views over Falun from the top of the iconic ski jump — the very spot hosting this week’s Ski Jumping Pre-World Championships!
This afternoon at 17.00, all participants are invited to join a workshop delivered on the “HECTOR” EU-funded project on "Enhancing Protection on Touristic Sites in Europe" at the Quality Falun hotel Conference Hall. A sign-up sheet will be passed round by your guide on the tour for you to indicate your attendance.
Today, we venture into the heart of Dalarna, a region steeped in history, folklore, and breathtaking landscapes. This picturesque area has been captivating visitors since the 19th century, enchanting everyone from renowned writers like Hans Christian Andersen to Swedish royalty.
Our journey takes us through the Siljan region, a land shaped by a massive meteorite impact millions of years ago. As we travel through rolling hills, charming villages, and scenic lakeshores, we make memorable stops in:
Rättvik: Famous for its stunning long wooden jetty stretching into Lake Siljan, offering breathtaking views.
Tällberg: A charming village known for its storybook-like scenery, many hotels and panoramic vistas over the lake.
Mora: The proud finishing point of Vasaloppet, the world’s longest and most famous cross-country ski race. Here, a short visit to the art museum of the painter Anders Zorn is on the agenda.
Nusnäs: No visit to Dalarna is complete without experiencing the magic of the Dala horse! We step into a traditional workshop where these iconic wooden horses are still carved and painted by hand—a symbol of Sweden recognized worldwide.
Siljansnäs: At Naturum Dalarna, where we learn about the region’s rich flora, fauna, and geological history, a fascinating insight into this unique landscape.
When reaching the far end of the vast Lake Siljan, we step into a world of fairytales. Here, Santa and his friends welcome us for a magical lunch, adding a touch of Nordic folklore and festive spirit to our journey.

Award-Winning Cheeses – One stop takes us to one of Dalarna’s most celebrated cheesemakers, where we sample locally produced, artisan cheeses crafted with care and tradition.
Knäckebröd, crispbread, straight from the oven – the timeless art of Swedish crispbread baking, as we visit a bakery where this staple has been made by hand for generations in wood-fired ovens. The irresistible aroma alone is enough to transport you back in time!
An Unexpected Delight: The Ostrich Farm – One of the highlights of our food tour is a visit to a family-run ostrich farm, where innovation meets tradition. Here, we discover how ostrich eggs are transformed into luxurious ice creams, rich pralines, and other delicacies—a truly unique taste experience.

On our final day, we take a journey back in time to explore Falun, a town shaped by over a thousand years of mining history.
The morning begins with a guided city walk through the charming streets of this UNESCO World Heritage town. As we stroll past rows of small red cottages, once the homes of hardworking miners, we get a glimpse into the daily lives of those who helped build Sweden’s wealth.
This day offers a memorable farewell to our Swedish journey, bringing together history, heritage, and culture in an unforgettable way.
Farewell Lunch & Departure
As our incredible journey through Sweden and Dalarna comes to an end, we gather for an early farewell lunch at the hotel—a final moment to reflect, share memories, and enjoy one last taste of Swedish hospitality.
Satisfied, inspired, and full of unforgettable experiences, we bid farewell to Dalarna, carrying with us a deeper understanding of its history, culture, and traditions.
In the afternoon, our coaches will take us back to Arlanda Airport, ensuring arrival no later than 16:00, marking the end of this extraordinary adventure.
