Any European national association of tourist guides may apply for membership providing that its local, regional or national guide members are recognised and/or registered after professional examination by the relevant authorities in accordance with the respective laws in force. In the case of a given country, where there does not yet exist a national association, two or more associations from that country may join the Federation on condition that they share the annual subscription and the voting rights. If the above proves impossible, upon application Federation members may vote annually to accept more than one independent member from one country each paying a full membership subscription.
The Federation may accept as associate’s tourist guide associations which ultimately aspire to full ordinary membership. This enables such associations to take part in general meetings and thereby gain a certain level of involvement in the workings of the Federation and in understanding of decisions reached. Associate members shall pay such annual subscription as shall be determined by the Executive Committee from time to time and shall not vote.
All ordinary and associate membership applications must be presented to the Executive Committee with the articles of association and/or the constitution of the association.
Once an application has been accepted by the Executive Committee, the association must pay the annual subscription within a month of notification, after which period the application will be null.
The acceptance of new members must be ratified by the following General Meeting of the Federation.
The FEG Club is open, by written application, to any tourism organization that has aims compatible with or complimentary to FEG’s. Applications for involvement as Members and Associates must be approved by the FEG Executive Committee and ratified by a FEG General Meeting. Applications to join the FEG Club must be approved by the FEG Secretariat and ratified by the Executive Committee. FEG reserves the right to decline applications and/or to cease to offer and/or change types of involvement.
