María Rosa de Juan, president of the Association of Official
Tourism Guides of Madrid-APIT, has been the candidate chosen to
receive the coveted Hermestur prize in its 19th edition. The
award, created and convened by the Spanish Association of
Tourism Professionals (AEPT), recognizes the associative /
professional effort, professionalism and human values in the
tourism sector and will be delivered by the AEPT at FITUR 2019
Tireless professional of the tourism, and of the sector of the
guides in particular, María Rosa de Juan, has an impeccable
professional trajectory, in addition to being a great activist in the
associative-professional field, and with great human values.
Member, as a professional and active partner, of Apit Madrid
(Association of Official Tourism Guides of Madrid) since its
inception 40 years ago, in 2003 he joined the Board of Directors of
the Association in various positions. She currently holds the
position of president of APIT-MADRID, and vice-president of the
Confederation of official guides of Spain (CEFAPIT). She is a great
defender of the sectoral union, fostering and being present,
representing the Official Tourism Guides, in various Forums,
Meetings, Meetings, Institutional Acts, etc.
She has participated in Conferences, Conferences, Fairs, Meetings,
Courses, etc., related to Tourism in general and the Tourism Guide
profession in particular.

On January 17th the "Madrid Acoge" prize was awarded, designed
to promote young tourism professionals, under 35 years old. This
year our Spanish colleague, Rosalía Rodríguez, was granted this
award, that was highly contested with professionals from the
hotel sector and travel agencies. It is the second time in 10 years
that the award was granted to a tour guide of the association of
Madrid.
